ABOUT

Meghan Geliza Jackson is a visual artist from Auckland, New Zealand. Her practice is formally about union, connection and oneness, explored through her investigations of sacred geometry, universal spiritual philosophies and playful dichotomies from within nature and man.

In her work, she aims to convey a sense of connection in multiple ways: connection to one's internal world, connection between human beings, and connection to one's macro environment.

With her interest in yogic literature, metaphysical theories and quantum physics, her work visually investigates the idea of the whole and its subsequent dichotomies through the interplay of texture and colour. Equilibrium and harmony is conveyed amidst visual disparity to help suspend the logical mind, so one can access the intuitive. The work then, aims to deepen our sense of being part of a greater whole.

Meghan has worked on exhibits & commissions within New Zealand and internationally. Her work has manifested as large scale paintings, fine art prints, large scale outdoor murals, interactive digital art, jewellery and private commissions.

…Her work is characterized by vivid energy and dynamism that is tinged with serenity.

She plays with the binary aspects of her own history and experience, and the resulting oeuvre is highly-nuanced and technical.

Working in a diverse range of media – from acrylic on canvas to graphite on paper – [she] demonstrates a contemplative approach to her art.
